CF_COMP

Centrifugal-force- and weight-force compensated radial-force and tensile-force sensor

The Tensometric - Sensor CF- COMP is predestinated to measure forces inside rotating stranding machines

- the measuring roller weight is compensated
- exclusively the radial-force and thereby the tensile-force is measured, neither the centrifugal-force nor the weight of the measuring roller .
- optional mounting position
- optimal application as radial-force- or as sensor in a 3-roller tensile-force measuring system.
- simple mounting, as well into existing machines

Function:
For measuring tensile forces on running material, a ball-bearing mounted roller is mounted on the journal-bearing. This measuring-roller has to be mounted in a position, that the material which is measured, will deviated in a defined angle. Here are angle of contacts, of the material which is measured - around the measuring roller-, between 3° and 180° possible. The resulting radial-forces, due to the deviation, are measured by the sensor.
The radial force is proportional to the tensile force, in the material which is measured. Corresponding to this radial-force, the nominal load of the sensor is to select.

Application: Tensile-force measurement on : optical fibres, wires, cables, ropes, belts etc.

Characteristics:

- Centrifugal-force and weight-force compensated measuring- system
- Guide-rollers or pulleys are mounted on the jour nal-bearing and used for measurement
- Dimension of the journal-bearing and/or the measuring roller can be adjusted to your needs

Measuring range:
By the angle of contact, of the material to be measured around the measuring roller, the measuring range is destined. The resulting forces will be measured.

Fixing: by means of 4 screws M8

Centrifugal force and weight force compensated Radial force and tensile force sensor

Radial Force Sensors series CF-COMP-PRO are precise and reliable measuring instruments with high overload protection and large long-term stability.

Function: For tension measurement on running material a ball-bearing roller is mounted on the measuring axis. This roller will now be positioned in the machine in such a way that it deflects the material to be measured in a defined angle. In doing so, angles of wrap of the material to be measured around the roller are possible from 3° up to 180°. The resulting radial force on the measuring axis, due to the deflection, is measured by the sensor. The radial force is proportional to the tensile force in the material being measured. According this radial force the nominal load of the sensor must be selected.

Application: Tension measurement on optical fibers, wires, cables, ropes, tapes, etc.

Special features:
- Centrifugal force and weight-compensated measuring system up to 150G.
- Guide rollers or deflection pulleys are mounted on the bearing axis, and used for tension measurement.
So a great flexibility is reached in the use of different materials and shapes of the measured material.
- The dimensions of the bearing axis and the measuring roller can be adjusted according to your needs.
- No restriction in relation of roller weight and tensile force.

Measuring range: The measuring range will be determined by the wrap angle of the material to be measured around the measuring roller. Measured is the resultant force.

Fastening: with 4 screws M8.

Particular measuring tasks require individual problem solutions, such as protection against aggressive ambient conditions, measuring in confined space or measuring unusual extraordinary and special products. Possibly we can realize your special task with a custom-made product.

One of our particular solution is for example:

Comparing tensile forces with IMP-TENS measuring system

Produktvideo:

The IMP-TENS system is a mobile measuring and analysis programme to compare
tensile forces of threads or wires in rotating systems.

A new type of measuring method enables first time measuring and monitoring tensile
forces of all threads / wires in braiding and stranding machines by using only one sensor.

Tensile force of every single thread or wire is measured and
displayed during a machine rotation.

The easy installation effects short backfitting time.
The system is working computer-aided.

So the quality of stranding is assured by monitoring the constant tensile
forces of all wires.

Measurements are clearly represented on visual display unit.
Measuring data are available as numerical value and graphical representation.

Principle of tensile force
measuring with IMP-TENS system

The tensile force measurement is based on defined deflection of material to be measured from the straight running direction.
The force which is applied to this deflection is being measured. In order to determine the tensile force of the material, the angle of deflection must be known.

This principle is generally called “3 roller system". It is the basis of many tensile forces measuring systems.
According to this method it is possible to measure the tensile forces of wires of a rotating stranding machine by a stationary fixed sensor which is located outside.By rotation of the machine every wire will arrive at the sensor which is slightly deflecting the wire from its straight direction. For a precise measurement a deflection of about 5° will be sufficient, which is equivalent to a wrap angle around the sensor of 10°.

When a wire is reaching the sensor it runs up on a ramp to the measuring peak. At the top level of the ramp which is the measuring skid there is a defined wrap angle existing. The force on the measuring head is reaching here the maximum. The connected analysis device identifies this force pulse as measured value.

The mechanical load of the wires during this process is very small. Furthermore the time of contact by the sensor is very short (in the region of milliseconds), so all possibility of wire damages is nearly excluded. Contactless operating proximity switches register the
machine rotation and identify each single wire.
